Does Color Affect Your Mood?
The answer to this question is absolutely yes! There are colors that can ignite passion or create a calm feeling. So, what colors create which mood? Well let’s dive right in.
Red: Red is a bold and beautiful color. It can evoke feelings of passion, anger, love, and danger. It can increase energy and increase your heart rate. The living room, workout room, or dining room are great places to use the color red, however I would avoid using red in a bedroom or anywhere you want to relax and chill out.
Orange: Is uplifting and stimulating. It is associated with joy, creativity, and excitement. The color orange is a great anti-depressant, it is a sociable and party-loving color. This color works well in kitchens and is believed to help digestion and promote general wellness. Painting your entryway, a shade of orange is warm and welcoming to guests as they enter your home. This is also a perfect color for a playroom, creating a joyful and happy space for your children.
Yellow: Is perfect for small spaces, it makes the space appear larger. Yellow is also perfect for bedrooms. Just imagine waking up to a cheery yellow putting you in a great mood for the day. Yellow is uplifting and energizing. A yellow laundry room or kids’ room are also great ideas.
Green: If you want to create a calming and serene space green is your color. Green represents equilibrium and is associated with balance and harmony. Green is the ideal color for a bedroom, it is comforting, and stress-relieving. A moss green looks amazing on kitchen cabinets and will generate a soothing atmosphere to cook in.
Blue: Is a very diverse color that will pair well with virtually every color. Blue is relaxing and promotes sleep, which makes it the ideal color for a bedroom. Blue is one of my favorite colors and practically looks good in any room. It is a royal and distinguished color. Blue is the color for imagination, peace, and inner strength.
Purple: Is meditative and works well in a yoga room, office, or bedroom. It is an elevating and gentle. A lavender powder room would be quite beautiful. Darker purples can stimulate creativity and evoke passion.
Just remember whatever color you choose, choose one that speaks to you. Using color in your home you can create the emotions and feeling you want in your space by choosing the perfect color.
